What it is

How skin boosters & PRP work at Annaré.

Skin boosters sit in a different category to filler. They are not placed to build a contour; they are distributed through the skin in small deposits to improve hydration, elasticity, and tone from within. The change is in quality — how the skin catches light, how it feels — rather than in shape.

PRP takes the same idea further by using your own biology. A small blood draw is spun to concentrate the platelets, and that concentrate is reinjected into the treatment area, where its growth factors support repair and collagen activity. Because it is autologous, there is no product compatibility question to answer.

These treatments work best as a series. A single session is worth doing, but the meaningful change comes from three or more spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance a couple of times a year. The provider will be direct with you about that at the consultation rather than after the first visit.

What to expect

From consultation to result.

Step 01

Skin assessment

Skin is assessed for hydration, texture, and tone, and the right booster or PRP protocol is matched to it. For PRP, your suitability and any relevant medical history are reviewed first.

Step 02

Treatment

For PRP, a small blood draw is taken and spun down while you wait. Product is then delivered through fine microinjections across the treatment area, usually under topical numbing.

Step 03

The series

Expect small bumps or mild redness for a few hours to a day. Sessions run two to four weeks apart, with the change becoming clear from around the second session and continuing after the last.

Questions

Skin Boosters & PRP — frequently asked.

What is the difference between a skin booster and filler?

Filler is placed to create volume or contour in a specific spot. A skin booster is spread through the skin to improve hydration and quality — it will not change your shape, and it is not meant to.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma is made from your own blood. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and that concentrate is injected into the treatment area to support repair and collagen activity.

How many sessions do I need?

Most protocols start at three sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, with maintenance once or twice a year afterwards. PRP for hair typically runs as a longer initial series.

When will I see a difference in my skin?

Hydration is often noticeable within a week or two. Texture and tone change more slowly, usually becoming clear around four to eight weeks in and continuing to improve through the series.

How long does PRP hair growth take to work?

Hair responds on its own timeline. Shedding often slows first, with density changes becoming visible around three to six months in. It requires commitment to a series to be worth doing at all, and the provider will say so plainly if you are not a good candidate.

Is there downtime?

Minimal. Expect small injection bumps that settle within a few hours to a day, and occasional light bruising. Most patients return to normal activity immediately.
